Carlyle House is an 18th-century historic site honoring the 150th commemoration of the Civil War. The new exhibit “Nurses, Spies and Soldiers: The Civil War at Carlyle House” interprets the site’s use as a Civil War Hospital. Paris Design transformed an irregular stone walled basement room into a dynamic exhibit space. A large wall graphic draws visitors into the space where Civil War hospital artifacts and personal stories are interpreted. A suspended graphic panel system with Ecofriendly Panda Board graphic panels can be easily updated for future displays.
Throughout the entire exhibit development process Paris Design was wonderful to work with. They took our script and images and transformed them into beautifully laid out panels that are also eco-friendly. Ecorite Imaging materials fit right in line with our Green Museum policies. Panda Board recycled media was used for main graphic panels and display labels were produced with Nilak Biodegradable thermal laminated paper. We’re thrilled with the results, and visitors are too!

A bio-reactive landfill augments the degradation of solid waste. When well managed, a bioreactor can also harness the gas energy produced during the biodegradation process. This can provide an alternative source of energy other than coal and oil.
Ecorite Imaging products enhance this process further. Our materials biodegrade in either aerobic or anaerobic environments. The bio-additive in our products increases microbial consumption of the media and may stimulate swifter biodegradation of adjacent materials. This can lead to less long-term management of landfills, reduced fill area over time, and more energy production.
